Our Hawaiian cruise

The last time my husband and I went on a cruise was for our honeymoon.  We set a goal right then and there that we would go on a cruise for our tenth anniversary.  So here we are ten years later.  I was more than willing to do something simple, but Adam was determined to make our honeymoon dream a reality.  I was a little nervous about leaving our boys for that long, but I knew they would be in the best of hands with both sets of grandparents.  Knowing what I know now, I am so glad we did it.  The boys did amazing and it was so refreshing and memorable to be away with Adam by ourselves.  It reminded me of what life was like before we had kids... why I had married him in the first place.

Our cruise started in Honolulu, so we flew into Oahu the night before.  The next morning, we got up and went for a run on the beach.  We haven't gotten to go for a run together since we were first married!  The setting was absolutely gorgeous... white sand, aqua blue water, warm sun.  It actually ended up being one of only three sunny days on our trip, so that morning in particular is engrained in my mind as pure heaven.

After breakfast, we took a bus and headed out toward the ship.  There was a rush of excitement when
we first saw it from a distance!
We immediately noticed upon embarking the ship that we were one of
the youngest couples!  Everyone seemed to know who we were merely based upon the fact that we were under 60.  ;)  It was fun talking to everyone though and we were able to sit down for an early dinner with the best dishes from each of the top restaurants!  (This ended up being Adam's favorite meal of the entire trip  :)

After that, we explored the ship together.  Thankfully, Adam is really good with directions because I was still getting lost on the last day of our cruise!

The first sunset from the very top of the boat.
They had something on the first night called a "pub crawl".  Basically it involved a different drink from each of the five different pubs/bars around the ship.
They taped a name to your shirt and we were only able to call people by that name.
Then they had people doing all kinds of crazy things... ;)

After the sun went down, the boat was all lit up.  Music was playing and we danced away the night.  We found another young couple from Australia and I could've talked to them all night... just to hear their accent.
