Teachable moments

Adam and I figured out long ago that he would teach the boys all of the life skill/common sense things they need and I will be in charge of the school stuff. This is because he is really good at fixing and figuring things out while I'm just book smart. We make a pretty good team that way. ;)

Adam has been home for the last few days and I am truly impressed with the progress he has made! Teach Jacob how to ride a bike. Check. Show Gavin how to work the computer. Check. Teach Casey how to climb down the stairs. Check. Get Casey to stand for a full 20 seconds!! Check. Thank goodness for Daddy, because if it were up to Mommy... these things wouldn't happen until way later. But being a teacher, Mommy is on top of Kindergarten. Lunch packed? Check. Homework completed? Check. Get Jacob dressed and ready for school? Check. Spend time reading with the boys? Check. If all of this were up to Daddy? That would be a scary thought. ;) Jacob might make it to school on time in mis-matched clothes... maybe. I do love that husband of mine though!

So Casey is officially standing... only when you distract him so he doesn't realize he's doing it. ;) I'm really glad he knows how to go down the stairs now because it made me really nervous when he was only able to go up them. What else...? Casey loves wheels. Whenever he is in his stroller, he is always reaching down toward them or if Jacob's bike is lying closeby, he'll immediately crawl over and spin them. We've also noticed that he gets scared if we lift him up in the air. Jacob and Gavin used to love this, but Casey gets this terrified look on his face. Like we have dropped him before or something... but we haven't! I think my favorite thing is when we ask him a question or say, "Yeah?" he always answers with a high-pitched "Yeah!" It's so cute. He has two teeth on top, two on the bottom, and just broke his first molar.

Lots of people have been trying to help Casey stand and take a few steps

Casey is starting to get into a little bit of trouble, but will usually stop when we say NO. Great. Just as Gavin is getting out of his terrible twos, Casey is diving right in!

Casey had his well-check today. I was anxious to see how much weight he had gained (since he seems to be a human vacuum cleaner :). I was surprised to discover that he is only 21 pounds, which is in the 25% for weight. So I guess we can keep feeding this bottomless pit! He is really tall though, 31 inches which is in the 90%.
